Limberlost

I’m still reading Girl of the Limberlost - it’s a long one!

The good news is that our heroine, Elnora, is falling for a man who is kind, attentive, and handsome, and has many of the same interests she does.

As I’ve written before, the fact that Elnora’s love interest has some interesting characteristics is quite unusual in a classic book. Most classics have the heroine fall for a man for no explicable reason, and it’s quite frustrating to read that kind of stuff.

Of course, Limberlost is written by a woman, so maybe that has something to do with it.
