Growing up in South Texas, I often heard the words, "No, a girl can't do that."

My parents, teachers, neighbors, and especially my religious leaders expected me to choose a life serving God's more favored children: the boys. This experience has influenced my writing in almost every way, and now, with my third novel about to publish and the country becoming increasingly hostile to women, I have started a new blog that, like my novels, offers unforgiving observations of the world as it is.

And I plea for a world as it should be. A world in which people can live their lives as they like, without fear of being harmed simply for existing.

Today, I live in Colorado, where I “earn my keep” as an attorney writing documents that will cure insomnia and keeping my young adult children from running too feral. But when the work is done, I write!

And travel when I can.
