The most dangerous time for a woman to be alive in the United States (in terms of likelihood of being murdered) was the 1970’s.

I believe this is because this was the decade women first started asserting independence, seeking higher education, and working outside the home in large numbers.

And men didn’t like it. Especially those with the serial killer gene.
