A Brave New World?

Delaware is now allowing corporations to vote. Just think, if you’re a rich business owner, you get TWO votes in Delaware - one as a human and another as a “paper sociopath” as I call corporations.

Meanwhile, Mississippi, despite having the largest Black population in the country, hasn’t had a state-wide Black elected official since 1890. That’s not an accident. 1890 is the year they adopted a new constitution intentionally designed to block votes of the recently freed, with a poll tax, arbitrary literacy tests for voting, and laws disqualifying individuals from voting for all kinds of reasons. This is the same law the Supreme Court recently let stand, saying it no longer harms the minority vote.

Surely I can’t be the only one who sees the bizarreness in this.

BizarroWorld. That was a popular word in the '90’s. It should be brought back.
